Easy Broccoli Salad with Bacon

Broccoli, crumbled bacon, sesame seeds, and cheese tossed with seasoned mayonnaise make this broccoli salad the best side dish!
Servings: 6 servings


  • 1 large head broccoli chopped
  • 6 strips bacon cooked, chopped, any variety, but we looove using Applewood Smoked for this!
  • ½ cup sesame seeds
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • ½ cup sugar
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste
  • red onion optional


  • On a large cutting board with a sharp knife, chop your fresh broccoli into bite-sized pieces and place it into a large bowl.
  • Prepare your bacon in the frying pan, let it cool to the touch, and then dice it into small pieces.
  • Add the chopped bacon to the broccoli bowl.
  • Add your shredded cheese, sesame seeds, mayo, and sugar to the bowl one after the next.
  • If you want to add red onions (again, optional), add them at this point.
  • Season generously, then mix gently together. Taste to test seasoning and season more if needed.
  • Cover and place your broccoli salad bowl into the fridge for - at minimum - an hour before serving. More than an hour is optimal, though. Served chilled and cooled is the best way to serve this!
