If you're looking for a fun and entertaining baked treat to serve for the holidays, check out these Snowman Whoopie Pies! Aren’t their little faces so edibly adorable?
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper; set aside.
In a large bowl, mix together cake mix, milk, oil and eggs.
Roll the cake mix into balls, approximately 2 inches in size, and place on your parchment-lined baking sheet at least 1 inch apart from each other.
Bake for 10 minutes and allow to cool completely.
Beat butter, confectioners’ sugar, milk and vanilla on medium speed to make the buttercream. Gradually increase to high until the ingredients are smooth and well-combined.
Use one bowl of buttercream as the filling of your whoopie pies using an offset spatula to spread buttercream on the backside of one cake and then sandwich it with another.
Scoop the remainder of your buttercream in a piping bag and frost the top of each whoopie pie, filling it out completely.
Shape your orange fondant into long, triangular shapes as these will be your snowman’s “carrot” nose. Place each nose in the center of each frosted whoopie pie.
