Ah yes, DirecTV, in all it’s NFL Sunday Ticket glory, something he’s coveted for some time now, being a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, but always living in areas in which not all the games aired. Well, with DirecTV, now he’ll get to see every televised game. But who’s at home waiting for the install guy to come? Yeah, that’d be me. Hubby, of course, has more in-processing to do before starting work tomorrow. (And the offer they gave us allowed us to afford it with no price change difference – score!)
So here I am, home, bored finding quiet things to do while my 18 month old sleeps, downstairs since this house has no doorbell (yet the majority of unpacking needs to be done upstairs, ugh) and suddenly it hits me, they’ve called to confirm 3 times (yay for great customer service!) on his cell phone, which means, that’s the phone number they have to reach us by. Normally not a problem, but for each and every in-processing thing he’s done, it’s been off. Sure enough, I try to call, and he’s either in an area with no service, or has it shut off again.
Perfect. Only not.
So I scramble to call their main number, explain my situation, only to find out that I have to call some local company handling my install to get them the right phone numbers. So I call them, to find we’re still a go for today, 12-4, and that he hasn’t tried to get a hold of us yet. I breathe a sigh of relief, give them the appropriate numbers to which the lady assures me she will call the tech immediately to relay to him our home number with which to reach me to confirm I am indeed home.
Only they called not but 10 minutes later. As I’m typing this up.
Called to reschedule due to the tech suddenly coming down with some illness (the lady on the other end called it heat). Granted, it is bloody hot here, but I find it ironic, just minutes after calling that he’s suddenly sick. Sure, that probably sounds a bit cold from me, but if you ONLY knew how many times we’ve been shuffled by Dish Network since arriving, which is what prompted us to get DirecTV to begin with, only to find that they are now, too, rescheduling us just like Dish did. Let’s just say, the hubs isn’t gonna be happy to hear this latest development. His prize is still a day away…. I *think*.
Let’s hope no more reschedules, because, quite frankly, I’m about ready to throw it all out the window anyway.
