In the middle of our macaroni and cheese dinner, just before football practice, the power suddenly disappeared on us, just as the sun was setting.
I could’ve been pissed, but I wasn’t. I wholeheartedly love all of my candles, and so I took the grill lighter, and happily lit each of them to admire, and bravely tried using my camera to take their picture.
I love candlelight, don’t you?
The kids and I sat in candle light while we played every light up toy we could find in the house. That was kind-of fun! (and so were the camera tricks) See?
My husband and I played Rummy by candlelight after the kids had gone to bed. The power came on in the wee hours of the morning, long after we’d fallen asleep. We camped out in the living room in sleeping bags. Definitely not the idea we’d had for our Friday night, but man, I hadn’t laughed like that in a long time. Definitely Friday the 13th, eh?
(Psst, remind me to learn how to REALLY use the camera in the dark.)
