It’s never good when your body makes a popcorn sound. I never thought that I could snap like twig in someone’s hands. I always used to joke that I would melt like chocolate for my husband, how he made me swoon, etc. But this my friends, this takes the cake. Snapped like a darn twig under foot in the woods. C-RRRRRRRRRRACK!!!!! Boy howdy am I ever sore! Sore you ask? I had a back injury from a car wreck back in 2002. I underwent physical therapy for 6 months before calling it quits, after feeling better (yes, I’m one of those people who stops taking the antibiotic before I finish because I feel fine, and end up getting twice as sick two months later). So for a few years now, I’ve been grinning and bearing it. Well I finally took the plunge and decided to get an evaluation and adjustment. The man was nice enough, and took hardly as long as I had thought it would’ve taken. And I’ve never felt so tall or so straight in my life. Apparently, I’m as crooked as a hook, and my neck is flat. Ha, I almost snorted upon seeing my X-rays. But now I’m straight. I’m just sore. My muscles haven’t quite figured out that my back is straight, which means they must follow. They want my back the way it was, and have put themselves into spasm to get what they want. Which makes mommy sit on the couch with a heating pad and neck wrap on all day, wishing she wasn’t breastfeeding and could take “the good stuff” to make it stop hurting. But I can’t. So Motrin and linament will have to do. And my children’s cuddles. Ah yes, those cuddles will help me everytime. Except when they decide it might be a good idea to wrestle, taking me down to the ground. “Hey mom, your back popped. That was cool!!!!!”
“Uh.. yeah… only not.”
My spine cries for you. I’m glad you finally went in and had it looked at. I do hope the pain eases, though. I’ve had my hubby pop my back and it sounds like firecrackers and then I can take a deep breath, but then I want to cry. >>Are you going to be seen again? I’m scared to death of the chiropractor. Can’t make myself do it. I went in once and had xrays and they said there was tons they could help me with, but I was too chicken to go back.
I just had an adjustment myself last Wednesday and was so sore I thought I would die. But I feel amazing now. I love my chiro! Hope you feel better soon!
Thanks Kelly Jene. It truly was an eye popping experience, heh 😉>>TY Mommy Cracked, I feel somewhat better, but definitely not out of the woods yet. I wonder how often I should get adjusted, and what drugs I should take to prepare myself better next time hee hee j/k
