So sorry it’s been so long since I’ve posted last (thank you Jane for dropping a sweet note). With Spring being here (or almost here), I’ve spent a good portion of my days outdoors enjoying the warmth and walking. Unfortunately, though, it has its drawbacks, in the way of allergies. This has been my worst allergy season here in North Carolina yet. HORRIBLE! For those of you who aren’t aware, living in North Carolina during the spring, you become accustomed to what we lovingly refer to the wall of ‘yellow’. Pollen in NY wasn’t anything compared to what it is here. When the streets and cars and ground are yellow, and even worse when it rains when you see yellow water everywhere, you know its going to be bad. Some days I can’t leave the house and am stuck like a bump on a log, sneezing to death. Luckily, we had a bout of rain for a week, which was great for the plants and our sod from last season, and great for our water shortage, and even more wonderful for my allergies, giving them a break. But it seems not even the mighty Zyrtec is handling it well enough this year. Compound that with soccer season. 3 of my 5 play (next season it will be 4, as my youngest son will be 4 next month and will be able to play preschool level). With soccer practices and such, we’ve been busy with that as well. Very busy time of year for us, but so welcomed, I love the renewal of life, the growth of plants, how its green everywhere, and one of my favorite months, April, in which we celebrate Earth Day!!!!
I hope everyone is doing fantastically! I will have some posts about spring and funnies this week, I promise 🙂
I know. My back screened in porch and patio furniture was soooo disgusting, and my hubby wrote “Wash Me Elizabeth” in the pollen on the table! When I moved to NC 2 years ago my allergies were so bad that I was put on 3 meds (all at the same time) to get things under control. Eventually I weaned off of 2 for the most part. I hate taking meds!
