I found something new today and had to share. I’m always looking for ways to give, holidays or not, and found this and promptly danced around excitedly joined! Besides, if you don’t do it, I’m going to find you and give you one of my scary mom-is-gonna-go-postal-if-I-don’t-do-something-good-now stares until you do.
The One Dollar Give is a campaign to change the world a buck at a time. Each day this month they will feature a different charity with a direct link to their donation page and ask you to donate just $1 to each charity. Day 1 was Compassion International. Their hope is that participants in the project will be willing to set aside $31 in December so that they can provide the funds for some awesome charities to do more of what they do every day.
Genius I say.
After December, they hope to continue The One Dollar Give, probably on a weekly basis, with different charities, all while watching our bucks do some good in this world. The charities they’ll be using at first relate specifically to humanitarian needs, but soon you’ll see environmental, research and other causes as well. Sweet! And if you have a great charity you love to contribute to that you’d like to see featured, email them and let them know.
As if donating a buck a day to a worthy cause wasn’t reason enough, this will introduce you to some really great charities you might suddenly decide to become passionate about to donate to more regularly, raising awareness as well as money.
For $1 and 5 minutes of our time, we CAN make a difference.
I don’t know about you, but I had goosebumps. $1 to make a difference. Genius! Imagine how huge this could be if it we passed this around to everyone we know?
Interested? Yeah you are.
