They say that, when your child is old enough to recognize when he/she has ‘done their thing’, they are ready to start trying to go on the potty.
They say that, when your child is old enough to say what it is he/she did in their diaper, they are ready to start trying to go on the potty.
They say that, when your child is visibly uncomfortable in a soiled diaper, complete with taking it off (or getting completely naked, such as mine does), they are ready to start trying to go on the potty.
(By the way, who the heck are they anyway?)
So someone tell me why it is that, my almost two-year-old does all of the above, AND actively wants to use the potty, with her resounded “YEAH!” when we ask her if she wants to try – complete with getting up there, squatting, making sounds, grabbing paper to wipe herself when there’s nothing there – yet, when nothing happens and we take her down, it takes her approximately a nanosecond after me putting a new diaper on her to soil that one?
It’s a good thing she’s cute.
