Two-Hundred Nine

by Lisa Douglas

(Mind you, I didn’t say 2009, like the year. I said 209.)

That’s how many people voted for my entry into the Protect-A-Bed Scholarship contest. And every last 209 of you who did helped me more than you will ever know.

There are many people I want to thank for this (and I apologize if this gets a little long). Firstly, I want to thank Kim at What’s That Smell for hosting this contest and for giving me quite the ‘pep talk’ in encouraging me to enter, and Protect-A-Bed for this beyond awesome opportunity given to mommy bloggers to help get them to the BlogHer conference.

Then there is my supporters who blogged about voting for me, who I really want to thank. First up there is Astacia, big kahuna managing editor over at Type-A-Mom, big daddy Jay from Halftime Lessons, original 3moms and Happy to be at Home creator Kate from A Simple Walk, fellow mom to six Suzanne at Crunchy Green Mom and fellow military mom and friend Amanda from Confessions from Household Six. All of these wonderful people blogged about voting for me, and are incredible friends. Thank you all!

Next up are my Twitter and Facebook friends who tweeted, retweeted and spread the word like wildfire advocating for me:

99 people are those I was able to find, through emails, Twitter, Facebook, blogs and more who said they voted. Only 99 out of 209, leaving 110 unrecognized people I’d love to thank. If you are one of the 110 not mentioned here, please comment so that I may add you to my list, and give you proper recognition for having helped me and thank you personally.

Thanks so much again for making my BlogHer conference dream a reality and for voting for me. I’m so thankful for every one of you.

Hey! Guess what?

I’m REALLY going to BlogHer!!!
