Ahh, Thanksgiving. I’m thankful everyday for everybody and everything, so while it’s Thanksgiving day to others, for us, it’s Turkey Day, in which we make one huge turkey and all the trimmings. Said turkey and trimmings and $200 at the Commissary later *yikes!* we’re fully stocked for good ‘ol Turkey day now! I’m a little concerned, this year, being in a new home, how long it’ll take me to get things done. Sounds silly, new home affecting your holiday ‘chi’ but its SO true! You know how it is, where’s this.. where’s that item… I don’t want to reach for something, only to not know where we ‘landed’ it when we moved in and be stuck without it if it can’t be found. So I’ve devised a pre-Turkey Day dry run plan, in which I’m going to basically stand around in my kitchen, recipes in hand, and pretend to cook right that second and find every item I need in order to do it. Like the big Turkey pan/roaster I bought 2 years ago from Pampered Chef. Where’d I put that thing when we unpacked? And the big Turkey cutting board, also from Pampered Chef, that has the sunken in center so the Turkey doesn’t roll off the cutting board, or shift too much while cutting; it’s too big for my cutting board drawer (obviously), so where’d I put that? So after this I’m off to go do that 🙂
In the meantime, I’d love to hear some Turkey day recipes you’ve all got planned, or do you have a special something you make every year? Some recipe handed down through the generations? I’d love to hear it!
Gotta tell you I did the TP shuffle this morning before the sun came up. I had to laugh, it was funny.>>You’ve got a great plan of attack for Thanksgiving. Don’t you love Pampered Chef stuff? I just recently hosted a party and got so much free stuff I felt spoiled.>>Take care and have a great day!
ha! I’m still doing it and I giggle each time singing the song in my head! >>Thanks, the plan of attack worked marvelously last night 🙂 Let’s hope it does again for tomorrow! Although, we are running out of tupperware/plastic storage containers to hold leftovers in heh
