Your mission today, should you choose to accept it – be thankful. Sounds simple, right? (You haven’t heard the entire mission yet!)
In an effort to boost your holiday spirit to new heights, showing gratefulness for the little things and for everything you have, you must thank everybody, for everything today. Thank the traffic light for staying green today, or even if it doesn’t, thank it for turning red and for being there to protect you. Thank the sky for being blue for showing you warmth from the sun. Or thank it for being cloudy, to shield you from the heat or painting the sky with lovely fluffy clouds for you to look at. Or maybe, thank it for the rain to water our plants and Earth. Thank the dog for going potty outside and not in your favorite shoe. Thank the water for boiling to provide you with tea, or pasta. Thank your children for being your children, even if they’re smearing boogers on their sleeves and chewing with their mouths open, thank them for every eccentricity, every fart, every poopie diaper and fight you must break up because they are there with you.
I know I must sound like a lunatic, and you, quite possibly, might look a bit strange overtly thanking the mailman, as I just did, for a job well done. Or helping the garbage men, such as I did, in my tank top and shorts. In the rain. Just to show appreciation. *cough*
Yes, this sounds absolutely bonkers, but trust me, it will boost you to new heights. Say “thank you” in your emails today, even if it’s spam. Imagine that? Say “thank you” to your loved ones over the phone or internet today, even if “just because” and there’s no real reason why. Spread the “thank you’s” around like you’re the Robin Hood of Thank You’s giving your Thank You money to the needy. Report back to me tonight or tomorrow and tell me how you did. I hope you enjoy it
You’ll thank me later!
