10 Netflix Shows and Documentaries to Help Avoid Summer Brain Drain

I’m a compensated member of the Netflix Stream Team.

I don’t know about you, but the second summer starts on that very last second of the very last day of school, I secretly become Mel Gibson in Braveheart screaming “FREEEDOMMMM!!!” because SUMMER and POOL PARTIES and SLEEPING LATE and general summertime awesomeness.

Except, summer brain drain is a thing, y’all. It’s easy to become a vegetable in the summer because you get all loosey-goosey about schedules, bedtimes, getting up and doing brain-important stuff. Summer sure can be one big giant party, y’know? But I don’t want my kids to suffer when it back-to-school time arrives. We have our summer fun but we also still visit the library and read, too.

One more way I like to kick it up a notch in the brain-empowering department is to use some of their screen time to watch educational programming. I’ve talked before about fun science shows and movies to stream on Netflix, here are 10 more shows and documentaries to flex their brain muscles and to help prevent summer brain drain.
