We spent 52 weeks in 2013 celebrating what made us happy, and it WAS a fantastic year. Let’s make 2014 the year where we really truly focus on surrounding ourselves with only joy and happiness all year round, every month, every week, every day.Tell me, what makes you happy? What is it that you do that you can’t get enough of? What makes your soul shine, your eyes beam, and your insides sparkle?
Happiness is so very many things for me, and every Wednesday I plan on sharing my answer here with you, on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. You can join us and follow along by using the hashtag #happinessis on Twitter and Instagram. |
Another tough week for the Douglas family. Last week was the stomach bug, this week was strep. (I tell you, I canNOT wait for the maid service to come and bomb, err, disinfect this house once everything’s said and done!) I sit before you now experiencing it now myself, too. (Mom’s always end up getting it, right?) There weren’t many happy pictures captured this week, because of all this crazy-sick business, but I still found a way to snag a few 🙂
Before I share our happiness photos, though, I wanted to share with you all something big that occurred yesterday – the Army’s E-8 promotion list went public yesterday, and my husband’s name was listed! He will be promoted to Master Sergeant/First Sergeant soon! Woohoo! There’s no corresponding picture to that, just excited words and all smiles from my husband, excited to retire the military at the same rank as his father – a First Sergeant.

With the sickies abound and appetites suppressed, we fended for ourselves the only way we could and knew how – tea, soup, toast, and good ol’ vitamin C.
Despite being miserable with sore throats and coughs, my babies cuddled together was the sweetest thing to witness.
Depsite Let me tell you, before illness struck me, I was lucky to grab a bite to eat here and there between cleaning, laundry, and and tending to the kids. Leftovers were the way to go, and this one felt decadent. Recipe here!
Is it stupid that this makes me as ridiculously happy as it does? Because OMFG 24 was one of my favorite shows, and I am SO SO happy it’s coming back in May!!!
