If you have an emoji lover in the house, make them these perfect and adorable Heart Eyes Emoji Cookies! They’d make a wonderful gift for someone for Valentine’s Day!
Heart Eyes Emoji Cookies
We love emojis! My kiddos asked for emoji bedding last year for Christmas. They wear emojis on their clothes, have emoji pillows, we can’t get enough! Even while playing with slime, the kids will say “Hey mom, look! I made a poo emoji!” We’ll probably create even more emoji-themed stuff soon, but we absolutely HAD to make Heart Eyes Emoji Cookies to start!
Easy Heart Eyes Emoji Cookies
I’m in love with ready made fondant, you guys. Do you know how easy it is to create with it? I don’t have to accidentally create the Frankenstein of birthday cakes anymore when I get the consistency of homemade fondant incorrect. I’m pretty good at frosting, friends, but I wholeheartedly SUCK at making fondant. Ready made fondant is my hero. 🙂
Heart Eyes Emoji Cookies Recipe
I’m all about making recipes as easy as possible. It doesn’t have to be complicated to look good, you know? You have got to learn how best to work efficiently and easily when it comes to making a ton of baked goods or a recipe for entertaining. How can you be more efficient in the kitchen while working? How can you make cook and make things still look incredible without spending a ton of time on it? Ready made fondant here saved my bacon and allowed me to make these Heart Eyes Emoji Cookies easily. And you can, too!
Cute Heart Eyes Emoji Cookies Recipe
We chose to use red decorating frosting for the eyes. Could we have used red fondant for the eyes instead? Sure! But the issue I had was uniformity. I don’t have a teeny-tiny red stamp to create the hearts in perfect shapes for the Heart Eyes Emoji Cookies, nor did I have the skill to cut them out one by one for all the cookies, either. I’m good, but that wouldn’t be working smartly, given the size needed. Unless you have a tiny heart stamp, I’d stick with red decorating frosting here.
Decorated Heart Eyes Emoji Cookies
These Heart Eyes Emoji Cookies would look AWESOME served at a Valentine’s Party, don’t you think? Imagine a tray of these set out for their friends, it would be so cool! Even better, some fun emoji inspired goodies in a goodie bag wrapped in an emoji cellophane bag paired with these emoji cookies! So easy, cute, and perfect! If you’re throwing an emoji birthday party, these would make an excellent addition to your snack table!
How to Decorate Heart Eyes Emoji Cookies
The key to success here is your tools. I have different biscuit/cookie cutters on hand here in varying sizes that are nice, new, and sharp! They not only allow me to bake these wonderful sugar cookies, but they allow me to cut through the ready-made fondant effortlessly too. A perfect circle of fondant for a perfect circular cookie. Easy peasy, friends. Work smarter, not harder. A good quality biscuit/cookie cutter set like that one is imperative for baking, you know?
How to Make Heart Eyes Emoji Cookies
To make these ridiculously adorable Heart Eyes Emoji Cookies, get ready the following ingredients:
- Your favorite sugar cookies, cut into circles about 2 inches in diameter (this is my all time favorite sugar cookie recipe but a box mix is good to use too!)
- Yellow fondant
- Black fondant
- Red decorating icing
You also need the following tools to make your emoji cookies a success:
- 2-inch round cookie cutter
- 1-inch round cookie cutter
- Silicone mat
- Rolling pin
- Wilton tip #5
- Butter or paring knife
Before you decorate, ensure that all of your cookies are cool to touch. Use a wire rack to let your cookies cool.
Roll out your yellow fondant so that it’s about a quarter of an inch thick.
With the same cookie cutter you used for your cookies, cut out twelve yellow circles.
Press a yellow fondant circle piece onto each cookie.
Roll out your black fondant so that it’s also about a quarter of an inch thick. With a circle cookie cutter about one inch in diameter, cut out six pieces. Using a butter or paring knife, cut off two pieces from each black circle, each with a rounded edge. These will act as your cookie’s smiles.
Press one black fondant smile onto each cookie.
Using Wilton tip #5, frost out two hearts with your red decorating frosting.
Serve to friends, family, loved ones, at a birthday or Valentine’s Party! I really hope you enjoy ’em!
