Valentine’s Rice Krispies Treats
We are absolutely in love with making Rice Krispie Treats recipes in every way. We loooove making them with chocolate usually, as we did with these Nutella Cookie Dough Rice Krispies Treats, or these Fudge Crispy Rice Treats using homemade melted fudge. We even made ’em egg shaped for Jurassic World Dino Eggs, too! These Valentine’s Rice Krispies Treats perfectly fit right in! 🙂

Heart Shaped Valentine’s Rice Krispies Treats
Having made shaped Rice Krispies Treats before, I knew we’d have to spray down our silicone heart-shaped pan before molding the larger hearts. Spraying any sort of pan you will use to shape your treats makes it easier to pop them out, especially when the Rice Krispies Treats are fresh from being mixed with the hot marshmallow and still really sticky.
Valentine’s Rice Krispies Treats Recipe
For this recipe, you’re going to be dividing up your Rice Krispies Treats mixture between two sets of colors. You’ll make more of the pink Rice Krispies Treats mixture than you will the purple, as the pink is the larger of the two heart shapes and we’ll need more to fill the pan. You might even have some leftover, it all depends on the type of pan you have! Extra leftovers to snack on can’t be all that bad, can it? 🙂
Best Valentine’s Rice Krispies Treats
Get the kids involved in this, too! Fun for kids to see how the Valentine’s Rice Krispies Treats take shape in the silicone heart-shaped mold along with using the smaller heart-shaped cookie cutter! They can cut out the shapes til their heart’s content (pun unintended, but perfect)!
Easy Valentine’s Rice Krispie Treats
This recipe is easy to double, triple, or quadruple should you need to make a lot of treats for a Valentine’s party! And while I didn’t drizzle anything on them, because I wanted you all to see the cute purple heart inside the pink heart, you could lightly drizzle a little white icing carefully and maybe add heart shaped sprinkles? Or dip the underside in candy coating? The ideas are endless here, friends!
How to Make Valentine’s Rice Krispies Treats
To make this fantastically easy Valentine’s Rice Krispies Treats recipe, you will need the following ingredients on hand:
- Butter or margarine, divided
- Miniature marshmallows
- Rice Krispies breakfast cereal, divided
- Red gel food coloring
- Violet gel food coloring
You will also need the following items to make this recipe:
- Silicone mold with heart-shaped sections
- Small heart-shaped cookie cutter
- Cooking spray
- Baking sheet
- Wax paper
Begin by spraying your silicone mold with cooking spray and set aside. Line a baking sheet with wax paper and set aside as well.
In a medium-sized saucepan, melt two tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add two cups of miniature marshmallows and allow to melt. Stir carefully with a rubber spatula.
Once melted thoroughly, add red gel food coloring and remove from heat. Mix until marshmallow mixture is well tinted and then add three cups rice cereal and fold. Press the pink rice cereal treats into each heart-shaped section of your silicone mold. You might need to spray some cooking spray on your fingers or utensil to press into the wells of the mold cleanly without sticking.
In a smaller saucepan, melt remaining butter and add remaining marshmallows (you should have one cup left). Allow to melt and add violet food coloring and mix. Remove from heat. Fold in remaining two cups rice cereal and flatten it onto your lined baking sheet. Remove your heart-shaped pink cereal treats from its mold and using your smaller cookie cutter, cut out a small heart from the center of each one.
Using the same cookie cutter, cut out six small hearts from your purple rice cereal treats. (Be sure to save the leftover scraps to snack on later! Yessss!)
Press the small violet hearts carefully into the center of each larger cereal treat. Serve and enjoy!
