My kids are ALL about emojis right now, and have been. Last year’s Christmas lists included emoji bedding, posters, clip-on fuzzy characters, and emoji pillows. When my daughters text me, it’s chock full of emojis for every occasion, even if the messages didn’t call for it. Unicorn emoji, heart eyes emojis, poop emojis, you name it! These Poop Emoji Cupcakes are absolute perfection for us!
Words I never thought I’d ever write on this blog ever – here’s how to decorate your poop… emoji cupcakes. Haha. But seriously though, who knew poop would be so popular? It cracks me up to see the kids wanting all this emoji stuff but really losing their marbles when it comes to the poop emoji.

How to Decorate Poop Emoji Cupcakes
No fancy tools or know-how here, you just gotta use a piping bag and Wilton tip to create the frosting in just the right way here, pretty much starting with a larger circle at the base and building up cone-shaped upward to the top. Pretty easy, as is the recipe for the homemade chocolate buttercream frosting. When I said this recipe was easy, I meant it!
How to Make Poop Emoji Cupcakes
Allow your vanilla cupcakes to cool completely before decorating on a wire rack.
Using a paring knife, cut out the center top of each cupcake and remove. Save the tops – you’ll need them to top your cupcake after the next step.
Fill each cupcake with a tablespoon of Nutella or hazelnut spread.
Top with the piece of cupcake you just trimmed off.
In a medium-size bowl, beat together butter, icing sugar, milk and cocoa powder to make your buttercream. It is best to use an electric mixer for this. Beat the ingredients on slow and gradually increase to high. Once the buttercream has formed, scoop into a piping bag using Wilton tip #12 and frost each cupcake.
Form twenty-four (24) small ovals with your white fondant. Shape twenty-four (24) tiny black circles with your black fondant and place one on each white fondant. These will be your poops’ eyes. Form twelve quarter-inch spheres from your white fondant. Form them into ovals and then give them to pointed ends. These will act as your poops’ smile.
Place two eyes on each frosted cupcake. Place one smile on each frosted cupcake.
Make fondant hearts out of your red fondant. Place two or three hearts on each cupcake. Serve and enjoy! Aren’t these adorable and amazing?
